Fast growing footwear brand, PAOLA D'ARCANO, just born example of Made in Italy, is also expanding abroad. The footwear house will close 2016 with a turnover of 1 million euro. The designer from Como region, known for creating stylish and colorful shoe adorned with fine fabrics made by Mantero maison, is already present in fifty boutiques and aims to expand overseas in high-end fashion boutiques. We want to grow in the United States. "Americans like our style said Paola D'Arcano. Some American clothing brands have asked me for collaboration by drawing their line of footwear from next Spring-Summer season", announces the designer.
Any other novelties?
There is a collaboration with Kristina Ti, for which I designed SS17 pre-collection and shoes for the fashion show.
What about your company internally?
We have a successful launch of the new brand G dì G. It is a younger and more casual interpretation of the PAOLA D'ARCANO brand.
Moreover the collaboration with Marco Censi and Guillaume Hinfray designers, for a refined activewear brand project, named LOGAN Crossing.
What's new in the Fall-Winter 2016-17?
The shoe is a true accessory. The season is abounded with decorations in gold, silver, floral brocade, jacquard lamé yarns, damascus, shiny leathers. In footwear emerges femininity that takes its cue from a bohemian minimalism and timeless elegance.
What about comfort?
The heel is not excessive anymore. Many shoes have heels of approximately 5 cm and moccasins have a square-toe. The new T-bar heels are from 6 to 8 cm for the day or for the evening. There are also comfortable ankle boots and knee high boots. Another delicious essences for winter are slightly open toe sandals with fur lining in sage color.
