Brighter colour perception

Brighter colour perception

A treatment for higher contrast in dim-light conditions. Nikon introduces SeeCoat Bright UV, the revolutionary non-glare treatment that brightens vision by balancing colours and enhancing contrast and colour perception, especially in low-light conditions. "The colour perception lessens for two main reasons. The first reason is the Pukinje effect: in bright-light conditions the eye sensitivity peak is 555 nm, in low-light conditions the peak in the colour perception shifts towards the blue and green tones of the spectrum (507 nm); it becomes more and more difficult to distinguish colours and shades, while objects start losing colour and seem more and more monochromatic", company says. "The second reason has to do with the gradual yellowing of the crystalline lens that happens as we age, combined with the reduced sensibility of adult eye’s photoreceptors. When we reach the age of 60 the light quantity that reaches the photoreceptors is only 1/3 of the quantity that reaches photoreceptors at the age of 20. This can limit the ability to carry out daily activities because it becomes more difficult to distinguish blue, green and red tones clearly".
The patented illuminating technology SeeCoat Bright UV is the revolutionary response to the necessity of glasses wearers to have a brighter vision. It includes SeeCoat features too: easy-to-clean anti-scratch and anti-glare treatments and UVA-UVB protection on both lens sides with a E-SPF value up to 35.
