The Museo del Gioiello opens in Vicenza. It is the first time in Italy. The charming location, in the Palladian Basilica, a building dated sixteenth century, makes it even more enchanting. Nine exhibition halls accommodate 400 jewels of different ages and cultures. It is possible to visit Etruscan jewelry, neoclassical and luxurious contemporary jewelry. "The museum is a project that rewards goldsmith’s art and jewellery. It is  a concrete example of the well-made and Italian excellence in the world," says Matteo Marzotto, Fiera Vicenza President, the company that manages the project together with the town of Vicenza.
Is it a bet to invest into a museum?
The Museum of Jewelry is unique in Italy and one of the few in the world. It is designed for experts and for the public too. It aims to accommodate international cultural events. For the country it is a meeting point between business, culture and creativity.
What are the aimes of the agreement signed between Fiera Vicenza and Panama Diamond Exchange?
It is a collaboration agreement for the organization of events, promotion jewelry and gemstones exchange and sale in Central America, in the Caribbean Area and in South America. Logistics is essential to the world of jewelry.
For the future?
We do not want to be the biggest, but we expect to increase the quality. The brand Vicenzaoro will be exported to the most prestigious international exhibitions: Dubai, Mumbai, Hong Komg, Las Vegas and San Paolo. We carefully consider at the Gulf Region, the largest customer of jewelry. Here Italy invoiceis 1.8 billion out of a total of 6.5 billion. Dubai is a strategic town.
Turnover?
We plan to close the year 2015 with 35 million euro: an increase of 10 percent compared to 2014.
What about Italian districts?
Italy will be the entire excellence district.
