Rediscovered youthfulness

"Feeling beautiful to feel good" is the inspiring motif of Dr. Alba Haya Norsa, an aesthetic physician and radiologist. Gentle in manner and good-looking, the professional has chosen a street in downtown Milan, Corso Vercellina 14, as her headquarters. The studio is equipped with the latest generation of devices aimed at restoring some freshness to the face and body. A firm yet gentle hand, the practitioner is willing to listen. "I have always done imaging dignosis working in front of a PC where I have little human contact. Being a cosmetic doctor means meeting people, talking to them, understanding their feelings to feel fulfilled at the end of the day, more complete. Seeing my patients happy and satisfied with their physical appearance is a nice gratification", Haya Norsa, says.
So many ladies but also quite a few men turn to aesthetic medicine. What are the main treatments?
The best known is definitely the filler that can intervene on imperfections noninvasively and with a natural effect. It is a compound of volumizing substances, mainly hyaluronic acid or polylactic acid, which are injected into the dermis to stimulate collagen production and achieve an increase in volume of the treated areas. It is indicated for smoothing out wrinkles, furrows, and small scars such as those left by acne, lifting sagging or inconspicuous cheekbones, making the chin harmonious, enhancing thin lips, and reducing dark circles under the eyes due to thinning of the skin in the periorbital area.
Many people are skeptical, afraid. The examples we see on TV among showgirls and actors are not always very encouraging. What to say to them?
When we have problems with joints like knees, shoulders, etcetra, we intervene right away: first with injections, then with transplants. The same goes for appearance. It is a normal evolution that the skin undergoes over the years: the fatty tissue is reduced, as is the hydration of the tissues, and some of the support given by the bones that are worn away is also lost. As time goes by, our skin is like a dress that starts to fit a bit loose. In this regard, biorevitalization is great for deeply moisturizing and regenerating the skin and helping it regain elasticity.
Are these treatments very expensive?
We have prices in line with the market. Just to give an example, the medical laser for permanent body hair removal costs 600 euros per session - full body. However, the treatment offered by an aesthetic doctor is definitive. Quite different if you go to an esthetician where the costs are lower but the machines do not have the same power. It goes without saying that the number of sessions at an aesthetic doctor is much reduced and consequently so is the expense.
Eyes mirror of the soul. How to revitalize the eyes?
It is not always necessary to resort to blepharoplasty. With the use of a state-of-the-art medical laser, immediate and long-lasting results are achieved. Patients also appreciate treatments with Botox, a toxin that acts at the level of the nerve endings that innervate the muscles that are "blocked" for a limited period of about 6 months at the points where the substance is inoculated. We use it mainly in the middle of the eyebrows, on the forehead, around the eyes to smooth out expression lines, small wrinkles, crow's feet while maintaining a natural, relaxed expressiveness.
For the body? If the problem is poorly toned tissues in the neck, arms, abdomen and thighs, how do you intervene? Not everyone goes to the gym, does regular jogging or sports in general.
One can alternate between microfocused ultrasounds that reach the depth of a surgical facelift and stimulate collagen production and injections of hyaluronic acid. If the goal is to tone muscles and fight adiposity as a function of overall reshaping there is muscle stimulation technology that simulates a kind of workout that recalls the effect of twists, squats and crunches. Muscle strength and endurance improve, muscle mass has an average increase of 30%, and an increase in basal metabolic rate is also observed. The laser also finds wide application in restoring tone and firmness to various areas of the body such as the periumbilical area, buttocks, knees, inner thighs, and ankles.
All that's left to do then is to try it?
We will be happy to accommodate everyone. Feeling beautiful to feel good!
