Between history and charme

An architectual jewel in the heart of Rome. Four star VOI Hotel Donna Camilla Savelli (Via Garibaldi 27, 00153 Rome Italy) is situated in the Trastevere area near Gianicolo hill. It is a hotel located in seventeenth century convent of Santa Maria dei Sette Dolori. It was designed by Francesco Borromini and commissioned by the founder of the religious institution Camilla Savelli a Farnese noblewoman. This chic spot in Italy’s capital is a place allowing you to visit local trattorias, bars and some out of the way exclusive boutiques.
You can enjoy the beautiful historical building, which has been restored to suit the building’s period. Services: fully restored 17th century monastery, 78 luxury rooms and suites, Wi-Fi internet, panoramic roof top terrace, rich buffet breakfast included in room rate, secure online reservations.
Near the hotel you can enjoy the popular restaurant L'Antica Pesa, stores and many local restaurants to enjoy Roman cuisine. On foot you can easily reach the heart of Rome: Piazza Navona, Fontana di Trevi, il Quirinale and reach glamour boutiques in Piazza di Spagna, Via Condotti and Piazza del Popolo. The hotel is in a strategic position to reach the Colosseo or to visit the Vaticano, Piazza San Pietro and Castel Sant'Angelo.
Skilful restoration of 2007 respecting the original project of Borromini and the Baroque architectural era. The cells that once housed nuns are now 78 rooms and suites with all comforts, including Wi-Fi Internet. They are elegant and quiet with antique furniture. "The Donna Camilla Savelli is a charming hotel in VoiHotels group. The Prèmiere suite with an antique rose window and a large terrace to enjoy the city is our pride", said Manager director Flavia Fontanesi. She has longtime experience in tourism in Forte Hotels and Holiday inn. "We plan to reach 100 rooms and inaugurate in 2017 a restaurant with star chef of international and local cuisine. We are looking for opening the palce to international guests".
A luxurious marble corridor leading to both upper floors you reach the main cloister with a central baroque fountain. With a breathtaking view of the capital from the two terraces. The Borromini room, the ancient refectory of the Augustinian nuns, is a fine place with 250 seats adorned by wooden coffered ceiling and paintings of the Renaissance. "They are perfect locations for ceremonies, events, fashion shows, conventions, incentive travel or relaxation", emphasizes Fontanesi.
The hotel has won the WTO, the World Travel Awards 2015. Its charme affords a good memory over time.
