 Beyond the visible

Beyond the visible

Ester Maria Negretti follows the vocation of painting since she was a child receiving her first prize at the age of eleven. The journey towards art continues through the study of textile design in which she graduates from the Setificio di Como. She feels the desire to follow the good Renaissance tradition and forms her painting technique in the "studio" of expert painters learning in the field the secrets of the trade, thus consolidating a solid preparation and a growing interest in contemporary art.
Having refined her taste and technique, she decides to devote herself exclusively to painting. Her work and her personal technique receive approval and growing interest from critics and the favour of collectors since the first solo exhibition in 2002.
The traces of "living" matter and the natural colours of the earth shape the work and, like archaeological finds of the modern era readmitted to the eye through an anthropological examination of urban waste, help us to be aware of our deepening exploration. Each work is therefore an invitation not to stop at the material reality, phenomenal, of every person, of every event of life and everything, but to venture further down, deeper, even lower to seek the Essence.
"My works are becoming increasingly free from the technical and from the usual materials of painting that are slowly disappearing to leave the field open to new experiences", Negretti says. "The work is thus tied to the matter only by a genetic process that closely resembles the formation, through the geological ages, of new landscapes and new possible planets. It is this characteristic, together with the structure and chromatic balance of the work, which suggests to the onlooker to dig to look for something possible beyond the image, beyond the form, beyond the visible".
The commitment of the artist is oriented to reading and understanding the enigmatic design of existence, that is, of a reality that invades us for deeper meanings and less apparent than what is revealed in everyday life.
